SmartFIRE ends with great success!

The SmartFIRE project ended on 31 December 2015, with great success and very impressing outcomes.

All partners of the consortium contributed to the design and the development of a unified and human-friendly platform for controlling, managing, provisioning and experimenting on top of the largest experimental infrastructures in Europe and South Korea.

The final achievements and outcomes of the project can be found in the final Press Release.

MAZI kickoff meeting

The kickoff meeting of the MAZI project was organized by NITlab, in Volos, Greece on the 14th- 15th of January 2016!

The kick-off meeting was organised by UTH and its purpose was:

  • to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the participants
  • to meet each other and to understand their roles in MAZI
  • to further exchange ideas on the project implementation
  • to decide on the detailed action plan of each specific workpackage towards the preparation and delivery of MAZI deliverables
  • to discuss about the administration of MAZI and the rules of its implementation

During a break of the meeting, a tour to NITlab was organised in order partners to understand the capabilities of technology and how it can be integrated in the final MAZI scenaria.

Our Brand new website

NITlab welcomes you to our brand new website. From this website, you can learn about our important news and activities. Along with this website, we released two more advanced web platforms, which will help our users to experiment with NITOS Future Internet Facility. 

The first one, nitos.inf.uth.gr is the NITOS Experimental Portal where someone can utilize all the available tools for experimentation in NITOS, like the Scheduler or the Node Status tool. The nitlab.inf.uth.gr/doc is where our users can find all the tutorials regarding experimentation in NITOS. You can find the links below.

GEANT connectivity

NITOS is now connected with the pan-European research and education network (GEANT).

NITOS utilizes the GEANT capabilities for layer 2 connectivity with other facilities, enabling joint experimentation with the i2CAT (Spain) and UoBristol (UK) OFELIA testbeds, as well as with the NORBIT wireless testbed (Australia), using also the Starlight infrastructure.
